U-Matter collects the following information to provide our aged care experience rating service:
Personal Information
- Email address or phone number (for OTP verification)
- Role selection (staff, resident, or relative)
- Staff subcategory (for staff reviewers)
- Selected nursing home (for resident and relative reviewers)
Location Data
- GPS coordinates when submitting a review (to verify you are at the facility)
- Device location is stored for audit purposes only and is never displayed publicly
Usage Data
- Review submissions (scores and sub-question responses)
- App usage patterns (for improving our service)
- FCM push notification tokens
How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to
- Verify your identity via OTP
- Match reviews to the correct nursing home
- Validate review authenticity via geofence verification
- Calculate and display aggregated facility ratings
- Send push notifications about your submitted reviews
- Improve our platform and user experience
Reviewer Anonymity
Reviews are completely anonymous. Your name, profile picture, or any identifying information is never displayed on the public platform. Providers cannot identify individual reviewers — they only see aggregated domain-level data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Review data is shared only as:
- Aggregated, anonymized ratings visible to the public
- Domain-level aggregated data visible to subscribed providers (never individual reviews)
- Anonymized data for platform improvement
Data Retention
- Reviews are retained indefinitely as part of the historical rating record
- Location data is retained for audit purposes for 12 months
- Account data is retained while your account is active
- You may request account deletion at any time
Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
- You may request access to your personal data
- You may request correction of inaccurate data
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data
- You may opt out of push notifications at any time
